FAQs

Need to Knows

Where are you based?

I work out of two locations. My private studio in Holbeach and CrossFit Strength Station, Peterborough.

Why is personal training so expensive?

The thing to remember here is that you may only see me for an hour but I spend alot longer making sure your session is tailored to you. I record every session you do with notes about where you need to improve, what you like/dislike and I use those notes to plan your next session.

Do I need a gym membership?

You don't have to but, it will help. If you opt for programming it will be far more effective if you have access to weights and other equipment. That's not to say we can't programme around what you do have, it just won't be as effective.

Do you write diet plans?

No. When I'm working with people on weight loss, I start by building better habits with food first. I don't jump straight into calorie counting and meal plans as I don't believe that gives you the best chance of keeping the weight off. I will also stay in my lane here. As a PT I can give advice on healthy eating and guide you in the right direction. I will help you get most, if not all the way to where you want to be. But, anything more involved  than that requires specialist attention from a nutritionist. These are people with degrees in nutrition who are far better equipped to help you

What's your speciality?

I focus on health and fitness. Helping you have a body that's fit for purpose. I don't train people to just look good. I believe if that is your sole reason for training, you are far better off with a bodybuilding coach. It's a sport in itself that I am not experienced with.

Why can't I just turn up and train?

I have processes to follow to ensure your safety. I insist on a consultation so we can meet before starting. This gives me a chance to get to know you, what you want to achieve and also assess your ability to train. There are some forms to fill out and depending on your health, you may even need to speak to your GP first. It would be irresponsible of me to allow anyone to train before knowing they are going to be as safe as possible.
